Movies - The Dark Knight 2008

Just watched The Dark night and thought is was very good...here's my quickie review.

Before we begin, here's a few notable quotes that will live on...

"I don't want to kill you, You complete me." - Joker to Batman.

"What doesn't kill you makes you stranger." - Joker

"I choose chaos" - Joker

..and lastly, Hans Zimmer soundtrack, and the cinematography - gorgeous.

ok I lied - my one word on the movie..."Feral" - for those who don't feel like reading through.

... a flawless movie laced with numerous flawed characters.

For the uninitiated - may their soul rest in peace...I seriously believe no one on planet earth does not know who the Dark Knight is, not seen any piece on any media about it - and not heard any comments about it.

The show begins quickly with some action - disguised men, in clown masks, robbing a bank, each dying after one another, denying the old mantra; thick as thieves any light of day. The scene ends with a revelation - The Joker.

I am instantly hooked - good start boys.

Then the usual gang appears, one by in their familiar roles, Bruce, batman, Rachel, Alfred, oh hey - Harvey, Gordon, Lucius, Bat machines...to name the usual...

Carrying the story, the gang pinpricks, slams, seduces and carries me along in a storyline that is so full of good and evil, hate and love, hope and hopelessness.

In the end, it was justice that won again but without the few twists; the batman being relinquished into a menace to society - spearheaded by his stongest ally - Commissioner Gordon...through a truce...an agreement to move forward...to fight crime in the name of different gods.
In the end, The Joker gets caught - laughing till the end - me remembering his words as well as, IMHO the more relevant one from Harvey - "You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become a villain".

In the end, the most sublest of all....the movie ends ... with the title ...The Dark Knight
which can be anyone if you ask me...

Bargaining.
Sometimes called an art. Has been known to cause some bloodspills in some cases, I heard.
Sometimes called anarchy.

Me little head suspects that bargaining is supposed to create the so called win win situation.
...caveat being involved parties are perfectly aligned and satisfied with the transaction.

Does this ever happen in real life? Seldom I suspect.

What about monopolies? They apparently got what we need...In a world where Adam Smith's invisible hand seemingly rules...We are fucked. Come to think of it, Mr. Smith's invisible hand seems to be showing us the middle finger.

What about the fine print?
Why oh why does fine print exist? I want to know which baastich company was the first to do this in their print ad!!! Anyone out there knows? wikipedia does not seem to know either.
We are fucked!

Freebies?
...
...

yeah - why not. So long as I have an option to not fork out more money to you Mr. Salesman!

Freebies = Cognitive dissonance

Here we go round and round

How often do we sit down for a smoke and think about the past, the present and the future? Remembering stuff. Take stock of what happened an hour ago. Two hours ago. Depending on the urge.

I do, most of the time - talking about the thinking part, not the smoking part.

Yes, I am a smoker. Addicted to it for more than 20 years now. We all know its bad but can we ever stop. For those who did - I salute you!

...but i digress.

My blogs here are about my thoughts. My feelings towards practically everything. My view of the world. It can really be summed up to be one general concise statement - There is always two sides to EVERYTHING! I mean EVERYTHING! Hence the title of the blog.

Duality means a lot of things to me. Good and bad. Happiness and sadness.
Having money or none.
Winning and losing.
Being single or getting married.
Eating or fasting.
Playstation or Xbox.

Starting ...and stopping.

Comparing...Understanding - try to anyways.

When I am doing this, I sometimes wonder if the extremes do meet in the middle. I mean there has to be some sort of balance right? If we can find it - that median, that balance - how will we feel? Will we even know it?

I don't know :-)

I don't know! I don't know! I don't know!
Now here's a concept - What if what we don't know.... IS the median.
All things being equal, when we are on some crossroad, unable to make a decision, wouldn't we be like in the middle? Wouldn't we be ...in some sort of balance? Imbalance?

Indecisiveness. Fickle minded.
Gays. Lesbians.
Bill Clinton.

...ooh and let's not forget...Confusion!
